Inspired by MAKEer and flickr user apelad, I've created pdf versions of papercraft iPod covers. I put together a little script that automates the generation of the papercraft iPod covers complete with folding and cutlines for every iPod starting with the mini (for a total of 9 13). I plan to allow public access to the generator but want to test to make sure the covers fit correctly first.
That's where you come in . . .
If you have one of the following iPods & would like to take your template for a test drive, send an email to jryanstewart at gmail dot com. All I ask for in return is your thorough feedback. I'll post any questions and answers at the bottom of this page.
I need testers for the following iPods
Faded items currently being tested at capacity.
- iPod 3rd Generation 10-15GB
- iPod 3rd Generation 30GB
- iPod 4th Generation 20GB
- iPod 4th Generation 40GB
- iPod Mini
- iPod Photo
- iPod Photo 30GB
- iPod Photo 60GB
- iPod Nano
- iPod 5th Generation 30GB show issues
- "It fits perfectly. Don't change a thing!"
- iPod 5th Generation 60-80GB show issues
- "It fits fine."
- My only complaint is that the lines are too faint to print on my printer.
- iPod Shuffle show issues
- Cover too tight due to thickness of control
- Include option for usb cover with lanyard
- Add opening for power switch in back
- Make allowances in back tab for power switch
- Make cut/fold lines darker for all covers
- iPod 2nd Generation Nano show issues
- Just move the screen hole EVER SO SLIGHTLY down
- Move the hold switch hole a bit toward the center (it's too thin on the edge and it broke while cutting/folding, and it was hard to move it back to the non-hold position after switching it on).
- What about putting the wheel controls in there (the click wheel wheel operates surprisingly well even under the piece of paper...)?
Thanks in advance for your help!
